บทคัดย่อ
บทความชิ้นนี้สนใจตรวจสอบพัฒนาการความคิดเกี่ยวกับเรื่องสิ่งไม่ใช่มนุษย์ที่สามารถเชื่อมโยงมายังความคิดแบบหลังมนุษย์ของ สลาวอย ชิเชค โดยพิจารณาจากการวิเคราะห์เรื่อง การจ้องมอง และ เสียง ที่ไร้เรือนร่างรองรับ จากนั้นจึงเคลื่อนไปสู่ข้ออภิปรายเกี่ยวกับมนุษย์ในโลกไซเบอร์ในฐานะตัวตนที่หลากหลายและจับต้องไม่ได้ ข้ออภิปรายเช่นนี้ดูเหมือนว่าจะมีรากฐานมาจากความคิดเรื่องเสรีภาพ ชิเชคมองว่าการคิดเช่นนี้ย่อมเป็นปัญหา เขาปฏิเสธระบบการคิดที่มนุษย์มักเข้าใจผิดว่าตนเองมีเสรีภาพเกินไป จากตรงนี้ จึงเคลื่อนเข้าสู่การอภิปรายความคิดเรื่อง หลังมนุษย์นิยม ชิเชคมองว่าการเป็นหลังมนุษย์นิยมไม่ได้ทำให้เราหลุดพ้นออกจากการไร้เสรีภาพในชีวิตจริงของเรา คำถามที่ชิเชคถามก็คือใครคือผู้บงการและใครคือผู้อยู่เบื้องหลังความสำเร็จของมนุษย์เหนือมนุษย์เช่นนั้น บางทีเบื้องหลังความสำเร็จของหลังมนุษย์อาจยิ่งสะท้อนความสำเร็จของทุนนิยมก็เป็นได้
