Guideline for appropriate management of power development fund in Thailand

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to recommend a guideline for appropriate management of Power Development Fund in Thailand. Information and data were collected from
interviews with key informants such as executives from Energy Regulatory Commission (ERC), Power Development Fund Committee, managers of power development fund in designated areas, employees of power development fund in category A and B, sub-district headmen, village headmen and residents who live around the power plant. The results of this study are analyzed by using content analysis, description and group interview’s results. SWOT analysis is then also used. The guideline based on sustainability balanced scorecard (SBSC) has been proposed, which can be used for all power development funds in Thailand. The guidelines for the management of the power development fund will be useful for the ERC to operate and manage the power development fund in designated areas.
