Abstract

The objectives of this research were to study the level of knowledge and understanding towards the Personal Data Protection Act, B.E. 2562 (2019) of the Provincial Electricity Authority officers, Head Office and to determine factors affected their knowledge and understanding.

This research was conducted among 280 officers of the Provincial Electricity Authority, Head Office during November to December in 2019. The questionnaires were used as a tool to collect data and analyzed by Statistical Package for the Social Sciences. The statistical methods used in data analysis included Percentage, Mean, Standard Deviation, T-test, One-Way ANOVA and Pearson Product-Moment Correlation coefficient. The level of significance for statistical testing was 0.05.

The research results were summarized as followed. The level of overall officer’s knowledge and understanding towards the Personal Data Protection Act, B.E. 2562 (2019) was moderate. According to the hypothesis testing, age, salary, job level and working experience caused difference in knowledge and understanding, the level of significance for statistical testing was 0.05. However, gender, education level and media channel did not cause any difference in the knowledge and understanding, the level of significance for statistical testing was 0.05.
