Tan Thamma luang Tradition of Tai lue, Chiangban village,Chiangkham District, Phayao Province

Abstract

There are 2 purposes in this research, which are (1) It is for studying the compositions of the “Tan-Tham Luang” tradition by Tai-lue people at Chiang Ban village,Chiang kham District, Phayao Province and (2) It is for studying values of the “Tan-Tham Luang” tradition by Tai-lue people at Chiang Ban village, Chiang kham District, Phayao Province. The results of research found that there are 5 compositions of “Tan-Tham Luang” tradition by Tai-lue people at Chiang Ban village, which are (1) the ritualists who are monks, neophytes, churchwardens that they are operate and response about this tradition, respectively. (2) the ritual participants. (3) the ritual equipment (4) the place and period of the ritual. (5) the ritual procedure. “Tan-Tham Luang” tradition by Tai-lue people at Chiang Ban village, Chiang kham District, Phayao Province, there are values in many parts from this tradition which are 1) the cultural value. 2) the social value. 3) the economic value. 4) the Buddhist value.“Tan-Tham Luang”  tradition at Chiang Ban village is to promote the Buddhist principals and encouraging people in the community to apply the Buddhist doctrine for their lives.
