The Development of E-Book using Inter-Language Common Based Concept to Develop Thai, Local Dialects, English, and Chinese Languages used for Cultural Tourism in Ban Pong District, Ratchaburi Province for Community Youth and People

Abstract
Research objectives were to create e-book for Thai, Lao Vieng, Mon, English and Chinese language skill for cultural tourism development in youth and people, Ban Pong District, Ratchaburi Province using a common concept, to evaluate effectiveness of e-book, to study users’ satisfaction with e-book, to compare users’ English and Chinese knowledge after using e-book, and to compare users’ English and Chinese vocabulary size after the using e-book. Participants included 250 Prathomsuksa six students of five schools affiliated with Ratchaburi School District Office using purposive sampling, and 100 people in Ban Pong District. Research methodology consisted of three main parts: 1. Development of linguistic content, 2. Creating tools include: 1) a satisfaction assessment, 2) a knowledge test, and 3) a vocabulary size test, and finally, 3. developing an e-book with a multimedia appearance. The findings revealed 1. The content of the electronic book consists of words, conversational sentences and description and are divided into five chapters with efficiency of 80.4/80.3. An analysis of satisfaction showed that students’ average satisfaction level was 4.41 and people’s average satisfaction level was 4.43. A comparative analysis of English and Chinese knowledge after studying with electronic books revealed that students’ average pre-test scores = 23.21 and average post-test scores = 47.71 and people’s average pre-test scores = 21.47 and average post-test scores = 43.89. The analysis of vocabulary size revealed that students’ average pre-test scores = 4.21, average scores in the eighth week = 5.5, and in the sixteenth week = 8.12, and people’s average pre-test scores = 3.15, average scores in the eighth week = 5.24, and in the sixteenth week = 7.25.
