Creating a Teaching Package of Zha Zhuang Yao Exercises for the Guzheng for Students Thirteen-Years-Old and Older

Abstract

  This study aimed to create and test for the effectiveness of a teaching package based on the Zha Zhuang Yao guzheng exercises for students thirteen years and older. For this research, the researcher chose five students from Music & Language House who had never previously studied guzheng, though they all had a basic knowledge of music. This research was conducted from August 9, 2015, to October 5, 2015. During this period, the researcher taught a total of fifty classes, one hour per class with ten classes every week. Teaching materials included a teacher’s guide book and lesson book.
   The results of the research were analyzed and evaluated by percentage and mean. It showed that the student gets an average score of 85.87, which indicated accomplishment by meeting the set of standards. Thereby it was confirmed the author’s hypothesis.
