Abstract

Research on “The impact on green areas in Sao Thong Hin Subdistrict and Bang Mae Nang Subdistrict, Bang Yai District due to the expansion of Nonthaburi Province. Between 1982 and 2021” The objectives of the study were: 1. to study the history of Bang Yai District. Nonthaburi Province 2. To study the factors affecting the reduction of green area in Sao Thong Hin Subdistrict and Bang Mae Nang Subdistrict, Bang Yai District, Nonthaburi Province. 3. To study the policy of creating alternative green areas and the causes of problems and obstacles in
such operations in Sao Thong Hin Subdistrict and Bang Mae Nang Subdistrict, Bang Yai

Bang Yai District Nonthaburi Province Before the expansion to become a modern city like today. Most of the area used to be agricultural land and most of the people made a living in orchards and rice cultivation. The way of life of the people in the province is simple. Rivers and canals are the main routes used for transportation. The most noticeable changes in Nonthaburi
Province occurred after the promulgation of the 5th National Economic and Social
Development Plan (between 1982-1986). It encourages Nonthaburi Province. Acting as a secondary city or metropolitan city of Bangkok to transfer the population from Bangkok.
Due to the development plan, starting from cutting new roads to bring prosperity to the people of Nonthaburi. The agricultural land was replaced by various types of buildings. Land transportation has become the main route used for transportation instead of traveling by
water. This kind of urban expansion occurred throughout Nonthaburi Province. As the city expands and develops, investors from both the public and private sectors have started to continuously invest in the province. The population migrated to live in all areas. Resulting in many housing projects and condominiums. The arrival of these civilizations has changed the traditional way of life of Nonthaburi people from the former occupation of agriculture to other occupations that can meet the needs of those who migrated to live, such as commerce. In terms of logistics, the emergence of new occupations led to the construction of buildings for both business and residential purposes. Until Nonthaburi Province expanded and had the image of being a Smart City, however, the amount of green area in Nonthaburi Province has decreased a lot. The loss of green areas has caused Nonthaburi Province to face problems in terms of resources and the environment. For this reason, Nonthaburi Province and its people have organized a tree planting project to increase green areas for the province, but not enough to solve long-term environmental problems. Due to the problem of a lack of budget and legal issues punishing capitalists who trespass to land of villagers and the state. The capitalists have paid large sums to government officials to avoid prosecution. As well as from the problem of cultivating consciousness for everyone to be aware of environmental problems in the ong term, etc
