Knowledge management is compilation of knowledge in the organization including tacit and explicit knowledge scattering in individuals and in documents that is developed into a system for all members of the organization to access and use for self-development and to improve their work efficiency and to help the organization achieve its goals. Because different types of knowledge come from different sources, knowledge management requires different types of management and different types of management tools. Furthermore, a learning organization is an organization in which knowledge expands continuously at individual, groups of individuals, and organizational levels to obtain outcomes individuals truly desire. Moreover, a learning organization is where members with new ideas can expand their ideas and be recognized for their ideas which help improve organizational performance as a result of members’ continuous learning, and an approach of learning together throughout the organization.
Nonetheless, the aforementioned knowledge would be worthless without being put into practice and utilized in the context of community management in which people in the community are expected to have opportunities to upgrade themselves to being persons with practical wisdom that will eventually lead their community to being a learning community.
