THE PERFORMANCE RESULT OF MUNICIPAL OFFICERS IN LAMPHUN PROVINCE

The purpose of this study were to 1) study the level of performance result of municipality officersin Lamphun Province 2) compare the level of performance result of municipality officers between town municipalities and sub-district municipalities 3) study factors influencing the performance result of municipality officers in Lamphun Province and 4) recommend appropriate approaches to enhance the performance result of municipality officers in Lamphun Province.
This study was a survey research. Population consisted of 879 municipal officers of 39 municipalities in Lumphun Province, from which samples of 275 were drawn. Research instrument used was a questionnaire with has Cronbach value level at .976. Statistical tools employed were frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation, t-test, F-test and multiple regression analysis.
Research results revealed that 1) level of performance result of municipality officers in Lamphun Province was higher than 80 percent with level of significance at .05 2) level of performance result was different between town municipalities and sub-district municipalities at level of significance at .05 3) factors influencing the performance result of municipality officers in Lamphun Province were aligned with the
principles of Good Governance, Strategic Management, Competency, Result - Based Management and
paradigm, organizational culture, value of work (I AM READY) at level of significance at .05 4) recommendations were that human resource aspect : the organization should provide opportunities of giving opinions and freedom of thinking, develop skills and knowledge, motivate the mutual collaboration and congruity; technology aspect : the organization should apply information technology in enhancing the
performance result and work development ; administration aspect : the principles of working should follow
rules and regulations strictly, develop new bodies of knowledge, sharing experiences, solving the problems as well as amendment relevant laws to be in line with the current situation.
