THE DIMENSIONS OF TRAVEL EXPERIENCE AFFECTING ON INTENTION TO REVISIT IN PHUKET CREATIVE CITY OF GASTRONOMY

Abstract

Gastronomic tourism is alternative tourism that attracted tourists to visit the destination. This study purposes to examine the dimensions of travel experience affecting to intention to revisit, including length of stay as a moderator and place attachment as a mediator.  The study collected the data with online questionnaire from 717 international tourists who visited Phuket. The data were analyzed through confirm factor analysis and path analysis with Process Model 7. The results revealed that the four dimensions of travel experience; entertainment, escapist, education and esthetic, impacted directly on intention to revisit. Moreover, length of stay was a mediator the effect of travel experience on place attachment. In addition, place attachment was a mediator between travel experience and intention to revisit. The results could adapt to develop tourism in the destination.
