The Roles of the Chief Abbots in Nakhonpathom Province to Solve Crime Problem

Abstract
The objectives of this research article were : to study crime problem in Nakhonpathom Province; the roles of the chief abbots to solve crime problem; to compare the roles of the chief abbots classified with personnel factors and to find The suggestions about problems and solutions concerning the roles of the chief abbots to solve crime problem. This was a mixed method research. The sample groups were 202 chief abbots in Nakhonpathom Province and 5 chief abbots were selected for in-depth interview. Tools using for collecting data were questionnaires and the structured in-depth interviews. The results of research were found as follows : The Crime problem in Nakhonpathom Province in the whole view was at high average. The chief abbots had the roles to solve crime problem in the whole view of 3 aspects of every time. 3) The chief abbots with different age and rainy season (Vassa) had difference of the roles to solve crime problem in the whole view of 3 aspects with statistic significant average .05. The chief abbots had suggested problems and solutions : the aspect of Dhamma preaching, the most chief abbots preached Dhamma only in temples, they were invited. They should continuously preach Dhamma in proactive way. The results of data analyzing from interviews were found that the chief abbots had role to solve crime problem in the approach of the 4 noble truths, provided morality maturity activities to youth and people and invited organizations to lecture disadvantage of crime problem.
