Participatory Practice Guideline for Preventing Adolescent Pregnancy in Children and Youth in Chainat Province

Abstract

The objective of this research paper is to develop a participatory practice guideline for preventing adolescent pregnancy in children and youth in Chainat Province. The research follows qualitative approach and in-depth interviews are conducted accordingly. The quality of structured interview is checked with 3 experts before collecting data in Amphoe Muang. From the purposive sampling method, 4 groups of 5 key informants are identified including parents/caretakers, teachers, local authorities, community leaders and children and youth. The research team performs field surveys and handles the content analysis, i.e., descriptive analysis. The research reveals that the success of participatory practice guideline for preventing adolescent pregnancy comprises of 5 aspects: stakeholder consultations, participatory planning, joint implementation, benefit sharing of positive and negative results, and monitoring and evaluation in order to improve the guideline for the benefits for parents, children and youth in the future.
