The role of the Election Commission in promoting people's political participation through the Democracy and Election Promotion Center Project

Abstract
The research aims to 1) study the role of the Election Commission in promoting political participation of citizens through the Democracy and Election Promotion Center project; 2) study the operation of the Democracy and Election Promotion Center in promoting political participation of citizens; and 3) study the problems, obstacles, and development guidelines of the Democracy and Election Promotion Center. Qualitative research, study of related documents, and interviews with 4 purposive key informants were conducted through content analysis and descriptive presentation.
The results of the study found that:
1) The role of the Election Commission through the Democracy and Election Promotion Center project found that the origins of the Election Commission include knowledge and expertise in various academic fields and experience in the law, honesty, and integrity. The powers and roles of the Election Commission include organizing or conducting elections, supervising, investigating or investigating offenses, ordering the suspension of various rights, supervising the operations of political parties, and other duties.
2) The participation of citizens in politics through the Democracy and Election Promotion Center project found that there was participation as follows: 1. Interest group form 2. Political party form 3. Voting rights form And 4. Forms of expression
3) The role of the Election Commission in promoting political participation of citizens through the project of the Center for the Promotion of Democracy and Election Development found that there are the following roles: 1. Determining policies and planning development at all levels 2. Making decisions for economic and social development and public services 3. Monitoring the use of state power 4. Establishing a fund for the development of civic politics 5. Exercising the right to vote honestly and fairly
