CURRENT STATUS EXPECTED STATUS AND THE NEED FOR PARTICIPATORY ANAGEMENT TO CREATE EDUCATIONAL OPPORTUNITIES OF THE KRABI PROVINCIAL OFFICE OF LEARNING ENCOURAGEMENT

This study aimed to examine 1) the current status, 2) the expected status, and 3) the essential needs of participatory management to enhance educational opportunities under the Krabi Provincial Office of Learning Encouragement. A multi-phase mixed methods research design was employed. The research population consisted of 99 educational administrators, school administrators, supervisors, civil servant teachers, non-formal volunteer teachers, subdistrict non-formal education teachers, and community learning center teachers under the jurisdiction of the Krabi Provincial Office of Learning Encouragement. A simple random sampling technique based on Krejcie and Morgan’s (1970) criteria selected 79 participants. For qualitative data collection, purposive sampling was conducted with 15 experts and experienced individuals. The instruments included questionnaires and semi-structured interviews. Quantitative data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, including mean and standard deviation, while qualitative data were analyzed through content analysis.
The research findings revealed that the current overall level of participatory management was low, whereas the expected level was high. In terms of essential needs, resource management received the highest PNI value (0.943), followed by educational management (0.878), while learning management had the lowest PNI value (0.858).
