A STUDY OF LEARNING OUTCOME ON MODELLING AND DECORATING UNIT AND CREATIVE THINKING OF GRADE 9 STUDENTS USING CONSTRUCTIONISM
The purposes of this research were to 1) study the comparison of learning outcome on modelling and decorating of model unit, after learning with 70% criterion and the ability to create a model of grade 9 students by using constructionism approach. 2) compare creative thinking of students before and after using constructionism. The samples were 30 students in mathayomsuksa 3/6 Sriboonyanon School, Mueang Nonthaburi District, Nonthaburi Province. The study was conducted in the second semester of academic year 2017. Research instruments consisted of 7 lesson plans of modelling and decorating unit, 40 items of achievement tests, 3 creativity assessment forms, and ability to create a model assessment forms. Data analysis was carried out with the use of average, percentage, standard deviation and t-test.
The study revealed that 1) the average score of learning achievement modelling and decorating unit of grade 9 students before and after using constructionism was 13.53 or 33.83% and 34.37 or 85.92%, respectively, 2) learning achievement on modelling and decorating unit of grade 9 students after using constructionism was higher significantly than before at the .05 level., 3) learning achievement on modelling and decorating unit of grade 9 students after using constructionism was higher significantly than 70% criterion at the 0.05 level, 4) the ability to create a model of grade 9 students after using constructionism was very good, and 5) Creative thinking of grade 9 students after using constructionism was higher significantly than before at the 0.05 level.
