The research purposes were to 1) study the components of desirable characteristics of early childhood teachers according to the needs of teachers, 2) analyze the needs for the development of desirable characteristics according to the needs of teachers, and 3) find ways develop the characteristics of early childhood teachers in the Child Development Center with in Nakhon Chaiburin province group. The sample consisted of 398 students' parents and 330 administrators or head of child development center from random sampling without using probability, and the specific selection method. The research instruments were document synthesis, consistency checking, and the developed questionnaires with the IOC equal to 0.98. The data were analyzed with descriptive statistics, mean and standard deviation, and analyze the needs for the development of early childhood teachers by using PNI modified formula.
The results of the research revealed that 1) desirable characteristics of early childhood teachers covered the standard of educational operation in 5 aspects, 19 indicators, 55 desirable conditions, 2) parents have a need for experience and personal development in the profession and the executives have the need for morality and ethics, and 3) development guidelines are rate and make suggestions exchange between centers raise awareness, encourage in developing the individual development plans for the study visits and training in the early childhood departments.
