Abstract

The objectives of this research were a study the effects of personality, relationships in the family and good governance organizational climate on happiness at work of support staff in South Northeast Rajabhat Universities and to offer guidelines to promote happiness at work of support staff in South Northeast Rajabhat Universities from the factors of personality, relationships in the family and good governance organizational climate. The research methodology was a mixed methods research design. In the quantitative research method, the sample was 326 of the support staff. The research hypotheses were tested by using a hierarchical multiple regression analysis technique. In the qualitative research method, an in-depth interview with 18 support staff was conducted. The data were analyzed by using the domain analysis method. The research findings demonstrated that the factors that significantly positive affected the support staff’s happiness at work in South Northeast Rajabhat Universities were a personality factor group consisting of extraversion, conscientiousness and emotional stability and the good governance organizational climate factor group consisted of a structure based on good governance, standards based on good governance and support based on good governance. On the other hand, commitment based on good governance had a negative effect on the support staff’s happiness at work. Finally, the research found that the guidelines were organizing participation activities, supporting career development, organizing staff’s work structure to have a clear responsibility based on the university’s regulations, allocating budgets of material and manpower rationally, and reducing patronage systems in the workplace.
