THE CURRENT SITUATIONS AND DESIRABLE SITUATIONS OF LIFE SKILL OF STUDENTS IN SECONDARY SCHOOL UNDER OFFICE OF THE BASIC EDUCATION COMMISSION

The purposes of this research were to study 1) the factors and indicators of life skill of students, 2) the current situations and desirable situations of life skill of students, and 3) priority needs index of life skill of students in secondary school under office of the basic education commission. The research sample was 331 guidance teachers, sampling frame by Krejcie & Morgan table and multistage sampling. The research instruments were an factors and indicators assessment form (IOC 0.80-1.00), current situations questionnaire (reliability 0.86) and desirable situations questionnaire (reliability 0.93). In addition, the research data were analyzed by content analysis, mean, standard deviation and priority needs index.
The results were as follows: The factors and indicators of life skill of students in secondary school under office of the basic education commission comprised of 4 factors and 11 indicators in total, the current situations of life skill of students in high levels and desirable situations of life skill of students in secondary school under office of the basic education commission in highest levels, the priority needs index of life skill of students in secondary school under office of the basic education commission is emotional and stress coping strategies at the highest level.
