Abstract

The objective of this research was to study the sports administration model for sport schools in Thailand. The research strategy consisted of 3 steps: 1) Analyzing the research conceptual frameworks and the research instruments on the basis of analyzing management theory concepts and in-depth interviews with professionals in the field of sports administration for sport schools in Thailand; 2) Developing a sports administration model for sport schools in Thailand. The methodology was to analyze the data collected from applying a Delphi technique with three rounds of interviews with 17 professionals in the field; and 3) Confirming the sport administration model for sport schools in Thailand. The procedure was to search for consistency using the focus group technique with 10 professionals in the field in order to be confirm the sports administration model for sport schools in Thailand, The major result of the study indicated that the sports administration model for sport schools in Thailand included 6 dimensions which are the development of management, the development of athlete, the development of sport personnel, the development of Science and Technology, the management of environments and benefits, and the development of sport evaluation. It was concluded that all six dimensions were feasible and practical.
