THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN FACTORS THAT LEAD TO WORK PASSION, POSITIVE THINKING AND WORK PASSION IN HOTEL EMPLOYEES IN BANGKOK

The research aims to 1) explore the relationship between factors that lead to work passion and the level of work passion in employees of leading hotels equivalent, and 2) examine the relationship between positive thinking and the level of work passion in employees of leading hotels equivalent to 4-star and 5-star hotels in Bangkok. This study applied quantitative methodology with the samples of 216 employees from 72 hotels. A questionnaire was utilized as the data collecting instrument. The Data were analyzed by using frequency, average, standard deviation, and Pearson’s Correlation. The results revealed 1) a significant positive relationship between 9 factors that lead to work passion of employees in leading hotels equivalent to 4-star and 5-star hotels in Bangkok and the level of work passion. Three most important factors are Recognition, Fairness and Collaboration consecutively, and 2) a significant positive relationship between positive thinking and the level of work passion of employees in leading hotels equivalent to 4-star and 5-star hotels in Bangkok. The results of this research would serve as guidelines for human resources professional and management team, to plan the internal activities through the factors that lead to work passion and positive thinking, to develop work passion of employees in organization that generates creative work behavior and good reputation of Thailand tourism industry.
