ความโดดเด่นทางด้านโนราในภาคใต้กลายเป็นตัวแทนมรดกทางวัฒนธรรมที่จับต้องไม่ได้ของมนุษยชาติ จึงนำมาสู่วัตถุประสงค์เพื่อ 1) ศึกษาระดับสมรรถนะทางด้านโนรา 2) ศึกษาระดับปัจจัยที่ส่งผลต่อสมรรถนะทางด้านโนรา 3) วิเคราะห์ความสัมพันธ์ระหว่างปัจจัยที่เสริมสร้างสมรรถนะกับสมรรถนะทางด้านโนรา 4) วิเคราะห์ภูมิหลังของนักศึกษาที่ส่งผลต่อสมรรถนะทางด้านโนรา และ 5) ศึกษาแนวทางในการพัฒนาและส่งเสริมโนรา กำหนดกลุ่มตัวอย่าง 348 คน ด้วยการสุ่มแบบชั้นภูมิ กลุ่มผู้ให้ข้อมูลเลือกแบบเจาะจง 16 คน ใช้แบบสอบถามที่มีค่าความเชื่อมั่นเท่ากับ 0.824 และแบบสัมภาษณ์แบบมีโครงสร้าง ซึ่งผ่านความเห็นชอบจากผู้เชี่ยวชาญ เก็บรวบรวมข้อมูลในรูปแบบออนไลน์ และสัมภาษณ์เชิงลึกเป็นรายบุคคล วิเคราะห์ข้อมูลโดยใช้สถิติเชิงพรรณนาหาค่าเฉลี่ย ค่าส่วนเบี่ยงเบนมาตรฐาน สถิติเชิงอนุมานหาค่าสัมประสิทธิ์สหสัมพันธ์ และการวิเคราะห์เชิงเนื้อหา ผลการวิจัยพบว่า นักศึกษามีสมรรถนะความรู้ด้านโนรามากที่สุด โดยมีปัจจัยส่งผลระดับปานกลาง คือด้านสิ่งแวดล้อม ปัจจัยด้านเศรษฐกิจกับสมรรถนะทางด้านทักษะความสามารถด้านโนรามีความสัมพันธ์กันสูงสุด อย่างมีนัยสำคัญทางสถิติที่ระดับ 0.01 นักศึกษาที่มีเชื้อสายโนรามักจะมีสมรรถนะทางด้านโนราที่โดดเด่น และแนวทางในการพัฒนาโนรา คือ การศึกษา สืบสาน และสร้างเสริม และแนวทางการส่งเสริมโนรา คือ การจัดแสดง จัดเผยแพร่ จัดรางวัล และจัดประกวดเพื่อให้การแสดงโนรา มีความแพร่หลายทั้งในระดับประเทศและระดับสากล
