การวิจัยครั้งนี้เป็นการวิจัยเชิงทดลอง มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อเปรียบเทียบความสามารถในการอ่านอย่างมีวิจารณญาณ ของนักเรียนชั้นประถมศึกษาปีที่ 5 ด้วยการจัดการเรียนรู้แบบ SQ5R โดยอิงบทอ่านตามแนวคิดสะเต็มศึกษา ระหว่างก่อนเรียนและหลังเรียน และเพื่อเปรียบเทียบคะแนนการทดสอบหลังเรียนกับเกณฑ์ที่กำหนดขึ้นร้อยละ 70 กลุ่มตัวอย่างที่ใช้ในการวิจัย ได้แก่ นักเรียนชั้นประถมศึกษาปีที่ 5/1 โรงเรียนสาธิตมหาวิทยาลัยราชภัฏนครราชสีมา อำเภอเมือง จังหวัดนครราชสีมา ภาคเรียนที่ 2 ปีการศึกษา 2563 จำนวน 23 คน ซึ่งได้มาโดยการสุ่มแบบกลุ่ม เครื่องมือที่ใช้ในการวิจัย ประกอบด้วย 1) แผนการจัดการเรียนรู้แบบ SQ5R โดยอิงบทอ่านตามแนวคิดสะเต็มศึกษา จำนวน 5 แผน และ 2) แบบวัดความสามารถในการอ่านอย่างมีวิจารณญาณ เก็บรวบรวมข้อมูลด้วยการทดสอบก่อนและหลัง วิเคราะห์ข้อมูลโดยใช้การวิเคราะห์ค่าเฉลี่ย ร้อยละ ส่วนเบี่ยงเบนมาตรฐาน และการทดสอบค่าที ผลการวิจัยพบว่า ความสามารถในการอ่านอย่างมีวิจารณญาณ ของนักเรียนชั้นประถมศึกษาปีที่ 5 ด้วยการจัดการเรียนรู้แบบ SQ5R โดยอิงบทอ่านตามแนวคิดสะเต็มศึกษา หลังเรียนสูงกว่าก่อนเรียน อย่างมีนัยสำคัญทางสถิติที่ระดับ 0.05 และคะแนนหลังเรียนไม่สูงกว่าเกณฑ์ร้อยละ 70 ที่ระดับนัยสำคัญ 0.05
