Abstract

Rasing awareness about the impact of alcohol consumption on the physical and mental health of students through survey-based research was the primary research. This research aimed to study: 1) knowledge and attitudes, 2) characteristics and causes of behavior, 3) examine the consequences, and 4) prevention and correction. These related to alcohol consumption behavior among vocational college students. A sample size total of 381 subjects were obtained by random sampling using a questionnaire with a reliability coefficient of 0.70. Data was collected by distributing questionnaire documents and analyzed using descriptive statistics, frequency distribution, percentages, and content analysis to summarize the results with descriptive illustrations. The research findings revealed that the majority of the sample group: 1) carried knowledge of alcohol control laws and held attitudes about saving money for other expenses rather than spending on alcohol, 2) had previous experiences with alcohol consumption and associated with socializing with friends, 3) exhibited self-control while drinking, and 4) identified seven areas for preventing and correcting, which included promoting environmental factors, cultural policies, raising awareness, establishing psychological support systems, fostering community networks, developing collaboration networks, and setting up counseling clinics. These findings provide in-depth information that serves as a fundamental basis for decision-making and planning for development, with a focus on promoting positive behaviors among students.
