GUIDELINES FOR ENHANCING MORALE OF TEACHERS IN SCHOOLS UNDER BANG KHEN DISTRICT OFFICE, BANGKOK

Abstract

The purposes of this independent study were 1) to study the morale job performance of government teachers 2) to study guidelines to increase morale in job performance of government teachers in schools under Bang khen District Office, Bangkok. The population included 161 teacher in schools under the Bang khen District Office, Bangkok, obtained from Krejci and Morgan’s table. The tools were five-point rating scale questionnaire with the reliability of .94 and Semi-structure interview from. Statistical nanlysis  included mean ,percentage and standard deviation.


            The results revealed that 1) the morale in job performance of government teachers was overall at a high level (= 4.24 , S.D.=0.70). When analyzed by specific When analyzed by specific one of the factors was rated at highest level and the other four factors were rated at the high level, the most influential factor was relationships with colleagues, followed by career advancement, salary and welfare, working conditions, and relationships with administrators. 2) school administrators should reduce non-teaching workloads, allocate administrative staff for clerical tasks, assign tasks based on teachers' expertise, and promote professional development. Additionally, they should foster a positive work environment, encourage teachers to express their opinions, actively listen to their concerns, and cultivate mutual respect within the organization. A fair reward system and appropriate welfare benefits should also be implemented to enhance teacher morale
