Developing the Ability to Read Aloud English Words by Using Phonics Teaching and Learning Management of Grade 6

Abstract

The objectives of the research were 1) to study the ability to read aloud English words. 2) Compare the students' ability to read aloud English words before and after the teaching management Phonics of Grade 6 and 3) Students to study the satisfaction of Grade 6 students with the arrangement of teaching by using Phonics instructional management. The sample group used in this research was 25 students in grade 6/1 of Muslim Wittaya Foundation School who were studying in semester 1 of the academic year 2022, obtained by cluster random sampling. The tools used in this research consisted of the One-group pretest/ posttest design research pattern, an English pronunciation assessment form, and a satisfaction assessment form. The data were analyzed by determining frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation, and t-test. From the results of the research, it was found that 1) the efficiency of the ability to read aloud English words, by using teaching and learning Phonics of Grade 6 students, the efficiency according to the set criteria 80/80 is that the efficiency of E₁/E₂ is equal to 85.76/80. 00 2) The student's score after studying is higher than before with statistical significance at 0.01 and 3) Satisfaction with learning management was at a very satisfactory level, both in terms of content, atmosphere, learning, and organizing activities.
