Abstract

PURPOSES: To look into the influences of resource management, perceived value of blood donation, and trust in blood donation on the intention to donate blood regularly. METHODS: It was a quantitative research, the empirical data being collected by questionnaires distributed to 400 blood donors at Blood Donation Section of Blood Bank Department in Thammasat University Hospital. RESULTS: The soft aspect of resource management directly affected both perceived value of blood donation and trust whereas it indirectly affected intention to donate blood regularly through the perceived value of   blood donation and trust in blood donation significantly (p < 0.01). THEORY/POLICY IMPLICATIONS: Blood Bank Department at Thammasat University Hospital needs to develop and focus on service management by means of training to enhance knowledge and awareness of service personnel to understand the objectives of blood donors and ready to answer questions from them. The staff should also be trained to be proficient in blood collection and to be able to resolve immediate problems when complications arise.
