Abstract

This article has 3 objectives. 1. To review the literature on the relationship between human and cattle in the social sciences studies. 2. To analyze the relationship between human and cattle in the rancher’s way. 3. To study debates on values system and definition of cattle in Thai society by using social space concept and explain related phenomenon such as; definitions of cattle in farming system and in capitalism context. It was found that changing values and the definitions of cattle can reflect the social changes. Since there was a story of the cattle rancher, the definitions keep changing drastically from time to time. It also reflects the captivation of social space and definition of cattle of the middle class. The perception of cattle is newly define in difference context. This phenomena leads to the new reality that is being discussed and argued on its definition, cattle value system in the changing world view.
