The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of music activities on enhancing children's emotional regulation skills. Pre-experiment research with a one-group pretest-posttest design was administered. This study included 92 primary school-aged children aged 6-9 years with typical development (grades 1-3). The participants took part in two-hour group music activities over the course of three days. Singing, listening to music, playing musical instruments, and moving to music were all examples of active music activities. Before and after participating in the music activities, the Emotion Regulation Checklist was utilized to assess emotional regulation skills. The data were analyzed using the paired samples t-test. It was found that the pre-test mean score was 72.07, and the post-test mean score was 75.48. This indicates that, at the .05 level of significance, the participants' emotional regulation post-test score was statistically higher than their pre-test score. The finding of this study suggests that music activities can help primary school pupils improve their emotional regulation skills.
