This research aimed to synthesize research in music education related to multicultural music in Thailand by systematic review method, with a total of 21 pieces of literature in specific criteria, including full paper research reports and theses from 2017 to 2021 which were available in the Thai Library Integrated System (ThaiLIS) database. The synthesis was divided into three aspects. These included 1) general information, 2) research methodology, and 3) research focus. The data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and presented in percentage value format. The results showed that most of the full paper research reports and theses from the last 5 years completed during 2020 were found to have the largest volume, accounting for 42.86% (n=9), and institutions that produced research the most in the past 5 years was Chulalongkorn University, with 33.33% (n=7). For types of methodology, qualitative research was found to be the main and most widely used methodology for the research, which was 61.9% (n=13). For the last aspect, it was found that the most common focus characteristics in the study was on the instructional and transmissional process in order to present guidelines for musical activities and on studying the states of music instruction, accounting for 29.27 % (n=12).
