บทคัดย่อ
การวิจัยครั้งนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อศึกษาถึงรูปแบบและเงื่อนไขของการสถาปนาอำนาจของหญิงขายบริการทางเพศในอำเภอเบตง โดยใช้การวิจัยเชิงคุณภาพ เก็บข้อมูลโดยการสัมภาษณ์เชิงลึกและการสังเกตการณ์ ผลการวิจัยพบว่า หญิงขายบริการประสบความสำเร็จในการเสริมสร้างอำนาจ ดังจะเห็นได้จากมีส่วนร่วมในการเลือกแขกได้เอง ร่วมกำหนดค่าบริการ และร่วมกำหนดรูปแบบการให้บริการ สำหรับเงื่อนไขที่เอื้ออำนวยต่อการสถาปนาอำนาจได้แก่ บริบทของการพัฒนาการเศรษฐกิจที่มีธุรกิจขายบริการทางเพศเป็นยุทธศาสตร์สำคัญ การสร้างทรัพยากรเชิงอำนาจในรูปของการเสริมความงาม การใช้ภาษาต่างประเทศ ทักษะการให้บริการที่น่าประทับใจ และการขยายตัวของวาทกรรมสตรีนิยมและ
วาทกรรมความเป็นปกติของอาชีพขายบริการทางเพศ
