Focus and Scope

The “jsn Journal” is an academic journal of Japanese Studies Association in Thailand, and is published two issues per year. The Journal has following objectives:

1. To be a channel for disseminating research findings related to Japan in the humanities and social sciences related to Japan.

2. To be a platform for scholars, practitioners and graduate students to share knowledge and experiences, as well as utilize the journal as a source to enhance the body of knowledge that benefits our society and nationally-integrated development.

3. To expand the network as well as strengthen academic cooperation in the area of Japanese Studies.

Article Type

It accepts articles in Thai or English in the forms of academic article, research article, review article, book review, translated academic publication.

Peer Review Process

All research articles in this Journal have undergone rigorous peer review, based on initial editor screening and double-blind peer review by at least three experts from various institutions. Any views expressed in the articles are the views of the authors only. 

Publication Frequency

2 issues per year (1st issue January, 2nd issue December). The journal is published in print and online.

Open Access Policy

This journal provides immediate open access to its content on the principle that making research freely available to the public supports a greater global exchange of knowledge.

Journal History

The jsn Journal (Journal of the Japanese Studies Network) was first published in 2011 with the aim of promoting a broader platform for the dissemination of academic work by lecturers, researchers, scholars, and students in the field of Japanese Studies. The journal was developed as an extension of the Network’s academic activities, which had previously focused on organizing an annual national conference and publishing conference proceedings in the following year.

The Editors-in-Chief of the journal have been:

  • Prof. Dr. Worawet Suwanrada (Volumes 1–3)

  • Associate Prof. Tasanee Metapisit (Volumes 4–12)

  • Associate Prof. Dr. Yupaka Fukushima (Volumes 13–14)

  • Associate Prof. Tasanee Metapisit (Volume 15–Present)

Through its publication, the JSN Journal continues to support the advancement of Japanese Studies and to provide an important venue for scholarly exchange and academic publication in Thailand.
