ความมั่นคงที่เริ่มสั่นคลอน? : ค่านิยมในอดีตและปัจจุบันของคนญี่ปุ่น

Abstract

บทความ “ความมั่นคงที่เริ่มสั่นคลอน? : ค่านิยมในอดีตและปัจจุบันของคนญี่ปุ่น” เป็นการศึกษาค่านิยมดั้งเดิมที่สะท้อนจาก สุภาษิตญี่ปุ่น (Kotowaza) และนำมาเปรียบเทียบกับข้อมูลเกี่ยวกับคนญี่ปุ่นในปัจจุบันว่าคนญี่ปุ่นยังคงค่านิยมตามที่ปรากฏในสุภาษิตหรือเปลี่ยนแปลงไปอย่างไร ผู้วิจัยศึกษาสุภาษิตญี่ปุ่นจำนวน 1,137 สุภาษิตและเก็บข้อมูลเกี่ยวกับคนญี่ปุ่นในปัจจุบันจากข่าวที่เผยแพร่ในเว็บไซต์ของ Yomiuri Shimbun, Mainichi Shimbun และ NHK ระหว่างเดือน มีนาคม 2553-เมษายน 2554 ผลการศึกษาพบว่า ค่านิยมจากสุภาษิตญี่ปุ่นที่พบมากที่สุด 4 อันดับแรกคือค่านิยม เกี่ยวกับความรอบคอบ ค่านิยมเกี่ยวกับความไม่เที่ยง ค่านิยมเกี่ยวกับการลงมือทำสิ่งที่ตั้งใจด้วยความมุ่งมั่น และค่านิยมเกี่ยวกับการให้ความสำคัญกับสิ่งเล็กๆ เมื่อศึกษาเปรียบเทียบกับค่านิยมที่สะท้อนจากข่าวของคนญี่ปุ่นในปัจจุบันพบว่าค่านิยมจากสุภาษิตที่พบมากที่สุดยังคงอยู่ทั้งสี่ค่านิยม แต่ในขณะเดียวกันก็มีความเปลี่ยนแปลงบางอย่างที่บอกเป็นนัยถึงความเป็นไปได้ว่าค่านิยมของชาวญี่ปุ่นอาจเปลี่ยนแปลงอย่างมีนัยสำคัญมากขึ้นในอนาคต

Wavering Stability? : Past and Present Values of the Japanese

The article “Wavering Stability? : Past and Present Values of the Japanese” is a study concerning values that were reflected from Japanese proverbs and expressions. The researcher compared such values with information about the Japanese nowadays to find if the values still persist or had already transformed. The researcher studied 1,137 Japanese proverbs and expressions and collected information about values of the Japanese from news of Yomiuri, Mainichi and NHK websites from March 2010 to April 2011. It was found that the most prominent values reflected from Japanese proverbs and expressions were those regarding cautiousness, transiency, making every effort to reach one’s goal after deciding to do something, and the significance of small and seemingly unimportant people/objects. After comparing the values that were reflected from proverbs and from newspapers, the result showed that all 4 prominent values still persisted but at the same time there were some changes that hinted at the possibility of more significant changes in the future.
