Tai Yong: A long history of food cultural identity of Ban Donluang

Abstract

This study aimed to disseminate cultural identity of Tai Yong ethnic food. In Ban Donluang, Mae Rang Sub-district, Pa Sang District, Lum Phun. Collecting information from the elderly living in the Donluang village Mae Rang Sub-district, Pa Sang District, Lum Phun, Tai Yong encyclopedia of Lumpang University, 3 year old center of family love makok Mae Rang Sub-district, Pa Sang District, Lum Phun. Data of those stories were analyzed by using content analysis techniques.

Results revealed that Tai Yong ethnic group has a long history of cultural identity of food. They have a variety of food and their cultural eating styles are interesting. Tai Yong people will cook their meals together in neutral tastes to make the food suite for both children and elders. The Tai Yong food is similar to northern Thai food in Chiang Rai and Chiang Mai Provinces, but they are different in terms of its popularity.
