Superstitions in Thai Society and Success of SMEs Entrepreneurs in Songkhla Province

Abstract

     This research aimed to study personal factors and superstitions in Thai Society factors affecting success of SMEs entrepreneurs in Songkhla province. Research samples were 337 Entrepreneurs SMEs in Songkhla Province that are registered with the Office of small and medium Enterprises Promotion. The research instrument was a questionnaire. Determination of instrument quality using content integrity analysis according to three experts, the correspondence index value was between 0.67-1.00 in all factors. Statistics used for data analysis were mean, standard deviation, maximum, minimum and Multiple Regression Analysis.
     Results of the research revealed that 1) personal factors affected the success of SMEs business in Songkhla Province with statistical significance at the level of 0.05. It was found that the factors that highly affected the success of SMEs business were the number of household members followed by age. 2) the superstitious variables in Thai society are religious beliefs, astrological beliefs and faith with spiritual power that affected the success of SMEs business in Songkhla Province with statistical significance at the level of 0.05. The superstitious variable that affected the success of SMEs business the most was faith with spiritual power, followed by religious beliefs, and beliefs in astrology.
