The Development of a Support System for Teaching and Learning Consultation via LINE Notify of the English Program Students in the Faculty of Education, Nakhon Si Thammarat Rajabhat University

Abstract

The purposes of this study were (1) to develop a support system for teaching and learning consultation by notification via LINE notify of the English Program Students in the Faculty of Education, Nakhon Si Thammarat Rajabhat University and (2) to evaluate the students satisfaction of using the web application system of the English Program in the Faculty of Education, Nakhon Si Thammarat Rajabhat University is located in the south of Thailand. The researchers have developed the support system for teaching and learning consultation by notification via LINE notify according to the conceptual framework of directive counseling, nondirected counseling and eclectic counseling. Counseling can be categorized into two types: individual counseling and group counseling. The System Development Life Cycle (SDLC) model was employed to implement the web application by PHP and MySQL database. The satisfaction with the teaching and learning consultation support system was assessed. The sample of this paper were 60 in the first-year, second-year, third-year, and fifth-year of the English Program Students in the Faculty of Education, Nakhon Si Thammarat Rajabhat University selected by purposive sample. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics including mean and standard deviation. The results of the research found that overall satisfaction of students using the system was at the highest level (¯x=4.22, S.D.=0.54). Considering it by aspect, it was found that service use (¯x=4.26, S.D.=0.52), benefits (¯x=4.26, S.D.= 0.59), design (¯x=4.22, S.D.=0.63) and efficiency (¯x=4.16, S.D.=0.57), respectively.
