Cost and Benefit analysis of Siamese Red Ruby Pomelo: Case Study of Saengwiman Village, Klong Noi Sub-district, Pak Phanang District, Nakhon Si Thammarat Province

Abstract
This research aimed to (1) analyze the cost and benefit, and (2) study the break-even point in growing of Siamese Red Ruby Pomelo. This research is a combination of both quantitative and qualitative research. The quantitative data were used to collect specific samples from agricultural samples in Saengwiman Village, Khlong Noi Sub-district, Pak Phanang District, Nakhon Si Thammarat Province that were ready and willing to give information of 30 people by using a questionnaire to analyze cost, benefit and net return. The qualitative data was based on interviews with 10 representatives to suggest appropriate approaches to production and distribution channels
The results of the study showed that it was found that pomelo farmers planted a total of 207 rai, an average of 6.9 rai each with a yield of 983.08 kilograms per rai. The average income was 138,837.68 baht per rai, with the accounting cost totaling 15,697.72 baht per rai, the average income was 138,837.68 baht per rai, the net return was 88.69 and the benefit cost ratio was 8.84. The cost of economics totaled 38,183.23 baht per rai, with an average income of 138,837.68 baht per rai, net profit 100,654.44 baht per rai. The net return was 72.50 and the benefit cost ratio was 3.64. The amount of production at break-even point was 2,000.25 kilograms per rai.
All farmers' product distribution channels are going to distribute their produce through middlemen. Problems and obstacles in growing these kinds of pomelos were the amount of salt water flowing into pomelo plantation causes damage to them. Pests, weeds have been infested. Fertilizers and pesticides are expensive as well.
