Requirements for Contemporary Lipao Crafts Products

Abstract

This qualitative research aims to study patterns and forming methods of Lipao Handicraft Products, study the needs of Lipao Handicraft Products in the contemporary style and create a design framework. The two sample groups were 4 groups of Lipao Handicraft Products manufacturers in Nakhon Si Thammarat Province and a new consumer group of Lipao Handicraft Products. They were selected from a specific sample group of 30 people. The research instruments were interviews, content analysis, descriptive statistics and creating a design framework. The results of the research were as follows: 1) There are two forms of Lipao Handicraft Products which are bags and general products. 2) Requirements for Contemporary Lipao Crafts Products. It was found that the target group was most concerned with the characteristics of the form and would like to develop a Lipao top handle bag as much as possible. The style of the bag in Lipao that the people want is a wristlet type , made of leather traditional color, luxurious materials and simplicity respectively. 3) There are two aspects of the design framework: the ability and production style of the entrepreneur and demand for product forms of new consumer groups.
