Abstract

The development of network system for teacher-librarians to develop selfdirected learning of student in Nakhon Si Thammarat

The purpose of this research were 1) to study the context of teacher-librarians and thier self-directed learning promotion to the students in Nakhon Si thammarat province and 2) to develope the teacher-librarians network in Nakhon Si thammarat province for the student development on self-directed learning. The research methodology wase quanlitative that the information given from 20 teachers and librarian, 20 school administrators, 4 administrators of Nakhon Srithammarat Primary Educational Service Area Office and 12 students by interview and focus group method. Research findings revealed that 1) the context of librarian teachers with thier promotion for student learning that shown the schools in Nakhon Si thammarat Primary Educational Service Area Office 1, 2, 3 and 4 have the policy, guidelines of self-learning facilitate based on the goevernment policy and various activities to support self-learning. The support technology for self-learning is not readiness. The role of libraries in promoting reading / self-study to be independent that schools organized by librarian or library staff. The problems and difficulties were related to the promotion of learning in the small schools were found that the librarians or library staffs does not graduated in librarian science and support budget were not enough. 2) The librarians teachers network development for self-learning promotion that requires the participation of all school levels. The developed model consists of six major components: 1) the structure of the network 2) the purpose of the network 3) roles and responsibility of network members 4) network activity 5) the results are caused by the network And 6) factors affecting the success of the network.
