Desirable characteristics of school administrators under the Bureau of Special Education Administration

The research aimed to 1) study desirable characteristics of administrators under the Bureau of Special Education Administration,2) compare their desirable characteristics as classified by sex, educational level, and working experience. The sample group, obtained by sample random sampling, was 144 teachers, drawn from a population of 235 of Sueksasongkhro Schools and Rajapranukhor Schools Group 7 under The Bureau of Special Education Administration. A set of questionnaire designed by the researcher with reliability of .99 and approved by 3 experts was used. All questionnaires were completed and returned then analyzed to calculate percentage, mean (\inline \dpi{80} \bar{X}), standard deviation (S.D.), t-test, and One-Way ANOVA.

The findings were as follows:1. The desirable characteristics of administrators under the Bureau of Special Education Administration categorized in 5 aspects: goodness and morality, academic affair, human relationship, personality, and knowledge about welfare education were rated at a high level. The most desirable characteristics of the administrators was goodness and morality. 2. Regarding the comparison of the opinions of teachers of Sueksasongkhro Schools and Rajaprajanukhor Schools Group 7 toward the desirable characteristics of the administrators, classified by sex and educational level showed no statistically significant difference. However, classified by working experience showed no statistically significant difference, excepted personality and knowledge about welfare education showed statistical significant difference at a level .05.
