Indicators and Promoting Sustainable Thainess Model of Non-Formal Education Students

Abstract

This research was a mixed method which aimed to develop the indicator and to promote the form of sustainable Thainess, and to test the use of sustainable Thainess model. The sample were 542 non-formal education students in Bangkok. The research instruments consisted of the sustainable Thainess assessment form, a model assessment form, self-evaluation form, attitude test, and satisfaction form of sustainable Thainess. The data were analyzed with the percentages, the mean, the standard deviation, the item–objective congruency index, content analysis, paired-samples t–test, and exploratory factor analysis. Research results revealed sixty-eight indicators of the Thainess characters of non-formal education students. Secondly “Sustainable Thainess’s Resurrection Model” promoted sustainable Thainess model through the learning processes and activities enabled the students to sustain their Thainess. Thirdly, the model experimental result revealed that the developed model was suitable, efficient, and highly satisfying. The follow-up study after three months by focus group found that the students still retained their Thainess by following, searching, and deploying knowledge about Thainess in their daily life.
