Abstract

Thailand is confronted by tremendous socio, economic and environmental problems. It is also reaching a completed aged society. The government alone cannot handle these problems.
Meanwhile private sectors are expected to run their business in a more socially responsible manners. The United Nations Organization and its private sectors’ network have declared the 2030 Sustainable Development Goals so that people in all societies will have better lives and the globe is more livable permanently. Unfortunately many companies lack of understandings and capacities to implement CSR activities, especially those concerned with community empowerment for community self-management. This article describes a case study on integrated social, economic and environmental development in one village of Khon Kaen province. Further, it draws a lesson of success that the implementing organization must change its mindset and must be equipped by capable field-staff and favorable working system that is systematic and sustainable rather than short term giving.
