Organizational Commitment, Big Five Personality and Joy at Work Of Nurses with Organizational Citizenship Behavior as a Mediating Variable: A Case Study of a Government University Hospital

Abstract
The purposes of this research are to study relationship between organizational commitment, Big Five Personality, behavior of organizational good membership and joy at work. Sample of the study consists of 360 nurses of a autonomous university’s hospital. Research instruments are: (1) questionnaire on organizational commitment (2) questionnaire on Big Five personality (3) questionnaireon organizational citizenship behaviorand (4) questionnaire on joy at work. The results of the study are as follows. 1. Overall and each organizational commitment consisting of
affective commitment, continuance commitment and normative commitment are in moderate correlation with joy at work of nurses. 2. Each Big Five personality consisting of neuroticism and
openness to experience are in low correlation with joy at work of nurses, while extraversion, agreeableness and conscientiousness are in moderate correlation with joy at work of nurses.
3. Overall of organizational citizenship behavior is in high correlation with joy at work of nurses. Each factor of organizational citizenship behavior e.g. altruism, courtesy, sportsmanship, civic
virtue and conscientiousness are in moderate correlation with joy at work of nurses. 4. Organizational citizenship behavior is a partial mediator variable of overall organizational commitment with joy at work. It shows a partial mediator variable of commitment toward organization on mentality, existence, and norm with joy at work of nurses. 5. Organizational citizenship behavior is a partial mediator variable of neuroticism and extraversion with joy at work. Organizational citizenship behavior is a complete mediator variable of openness to experience, agreeableness and conscientiousness with joy at work of nurses.
