Thai Modern Rural Society and Factor Affecting on Lifestyle

Abstract

This paper aims to explain the rural society transition, definition of Thai modern rural society, lifestyle of rural people and factors affecting on lifestyle of people in Thai modern Rural Society. From literature review
the results revealed that most Thai Rural Society already transited to modernity by applying new production system, market, consumption, technology, development concept and policy of government sector to a
way of life that caused resembling people lifestyle on both rural and urban areas. However, there were some issues, such as culture and tradition which were preserved in rural society within the context of modernity. In addition, the results showed that factors affecting on lifestyle of people in Thai modern rural society included personal factor, psychological factor, economic factor, social factor, cultural factor, technology factor modernity and modern capitalism factor as well as public policy and the concept of development from individual or private sector factor. Therefore, this article is useful for understanding the phenomena and factors that determine the lifestyle of people in Thai modern rural society and can be used as a basis for setting the development policy in the context of changing Thai Rural Society. Furthermore, the knowledge of this paper can be applied for further study in the future.
