Positive Psychological Capital, Psychological Well-Being and Professional Engagement of Government Teachers under the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration School

Abstract

The objectives of this study were; 1) to study the level of positive psychological capital, psychological well-being and professional engagement of government teachers , 2) to compare professional engagement of government teachers by personal factors 3) to study relationships between positive psychological capital and professional engagement of government teachers., and 4) to study relationships between psychological well-being and professional engagement of government teachers. The samples of this study were 1,140 government teachers under the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration School. The samples were collected by questionnaires. The statistic methods used for analysis were percentage, mean, standard deviation, t-test, F-test, Least Significant Difference (LSD), Pearson’s Product Moment Correlation Coefficient and stepwise regression analysis. The statistical significance was set at .05 and .01 level of confidence.


The results of this study indicated that 1) positive psychological capital, psychological well-being and professional engagement of government teachers were at the high levels, 2) government teachers
who had various in age, educational background, academic position, experience, income per month and marital status had difference professional engagement with the statistical significant at .01, excepted
government teachers who had various in gender have not difference professional engagement, 3) positive psychological capital was positively correlated with professional engagement of government teachers with
the statistical significant at .01 level, and 4) psychological well-being was positively correlated with professional engagement of government teachers with the statistical significant at .01 level.
