Trust in Supervisor, Work Engagement, Organizational Citizenship Behavior and Job Performance of Professional Nurses in the Private Hospital

Abstract

The objectives of this research were to study: 1) the relationship between trust in supervisor, work engagement, organizational citizenship behavior and job performance of professional nurses in the private
hospital; and 2) variables which could predict job performance of professional nurses in the private hospital. Samples were 144 professional nurses in the private hospital. Data were collected by questionnaires and analyzed by application program of computer. Statistics used were percentage, mean, standard deviation, Pearson’s product moment correlation coefficient and multiple regression analysis with the stepwise technique. Results showed that: 1) there were a positive correlation between trust in supervisor, work engagement, organizational citizenship behavior and job performance with the level of significance at .01 and 2) organizational citizenship behavior could be predicted the job performance of professional nurses at the percentage of 50.4.
