Information Literacy in the Digital Environment

Abstract

Information literacy is the 21st century skill. The concept of information literacy has  been developed gradually. Several  studies  and research were conducted about  the concepts, similarities,  differences and  interrelations  of the information literacy  with  other literacies, specifically media  and digital literacies in the viewpoints of  scholars, professionals and researchers in the field of  library and information science and  education. The changing  information, media and digital landscape created  the new learning environment and the development of  the concepts, the scope, the integration and the convergence of these three literacies into  holistic concepts and multidimensional framework  under  the  multiliteracy  and transliteracy challenges for the development of  information literate people in the digital environment.
