Abstract
The study of New Public Service Management to develop the market in front of Wat Phra Mahathat: Case Study of Nakhon Si Thammarat City Municipality to develop the market in front of Wat Phra Mahathat, Muang District, Nakhon Si Thammarat Province. The word “market” is called “Lad” by the southern people. It is the “Phrathat Night Market” called in the southern people tone as “Lad Na Phrathat”. The objective is to study the management of fundamental services of Nakhon Si Thammarat City Municipality and the approaches of public service provision for developing “Lad Na Phrathat”, Muang District, Nakhon Si Thammarat Province. This is the Qualitative Research which is the In-depth Interview conducted on relevant people and the content analysis from relevant documents.
The study results reveal that the public services of Nakhon Si Thammarat City Municipality in the management of fundamental services of Nakhon Si Thammarat City Municipality including the water supply, electricity, waste collection, security guard, mobile toilet served for tourists, are provided in correspondence with the idea of Denhardt and Denhardt (2000 p.554) on the approaches of public service provision of local Administrative organizations. The main responsible person is Nakhon Si Thammarat Municipality in providing local public services.
