Abstract

This research aims to study the desirable characteristics of psychology students in the 21st century, as referenced by the competencies for psychology learners in preparing for success in the 21st-century workforce by the American Psychological Association (APA). The goal is to use this information as a guideline for developing recreational and sports activities to promote the desirable characteristics of psychology students in the 21st century, using gamification processes to enhance them. The study is based on surveys of opinions from psychology students and faculty members participating in the development project of the personal image of psychology students organized by the Department of Psychology, Faculty of Social Sciences, Kasetsart University. The survey involved 195 participants and compared data from the previous year, as well as interviews with five administrators, deans, department heads, and teaching faculty members in the field of psychology. The study found that the desirable characteristics of psychology students in the 21st century, according to the APA guidelines, are suitable for organizing activities to promote these characteristics. These characteristics are divided into two aspects: personal characteristics, including adaptability, integrity, and self-regulation, and social characteristics, including collaboration, inclusivity, leadership, management, and service orientation.
