Abstract

The mixed methods research aimed to 1) investigate the components of work happiness among secondary school teachers, and 2) propose guidelines for the management of work happiness among secondary school teachers. The quantitative sample consisted of 331 secondary schools nationwide under the Office of Secondary Educational Service Area for the academic year 2021. Two respondents were selected from each school: one school director and one teacher, totaling 662 participants. The sampling method used was stratified random sampling. The target group for qualitative data collection consisted of 9 specifically model school directors. The research instruments included: a five-point Likert scale questionnaire with a reliability coefficient of 0.99; a structured interview protocol, and an evaluation form for assessing the appropriateness and feasibility of the proposed management guidelines. Quantitative data were analyzed using frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation, and exploratory factor analysis. Qualitative data were analyzed through content analysis.

The research results indicated that:

Work happiness among secondary school teachers comprises four components with a total of 104 indicators.
The proposed guidelines for managing work happiness among secondary school teachers. The details are as follows: 1) Guidelines for enhancing teacher work motivation, consisting of 8 sub-approaches, 2) Guidelines for promoting teamwork, consisting of 8 sub-approaches, 3) Guidelines for building school culture, consisting of 7 sub-approaches, and 4) Guidelines for school management, consisting of 8 sub-approaches. All domains were deemed highly appropriate and feasible.
