MUSIC OF K’HO LACH PEOPLE IN DALAT, SOCIALIST REPUBLIC OF VIETNAM

Abstract

This research aims to study the music and culture of the K’ho Lach Dalat in the Socialist Republic of Vietnam using the ethnomusicology method as a way to study, that includes methods of surveying, interviewing and analyzing for information from January 2018 to January 2020. This research are : 1. To study the current society and culture of the K’ho Lach Dalat in the Lamdong province in the Republic of Vietnam. 2.To study the musical knowledge of K’ho Lach Dalat Lamdong province in the Republic of Vietnam and 3. To analyze the songs in K’ho Lach Dalat culture in the Lamdong province in the Socialist Republic of Vietnam. The results of this study showed that the music and culture of K’ho Lach Dalat are unique; for example, there are many songs that reflect their culture and used in many ceremonies such as weddings new year religious ceremonies and funerals. It is not only a unique kind of music and culture, but preservation and inheritance were good. As a result, this study showed the uniqueness and the strength of the music and culture of K’ho Lach Dalat in the Socialist Republic of Vietnam.
